It’s been revealed today that Huawei’s flagship smartphone, the Mate 30 Pro, is finally being released in the UK.
This has been a long time coming and the reason why it’s been so delayed might be down to President Trump.
The US has placed a ban Huawei, which means that American-based companies can no longer do business with the Chinese tech giants.
One of these companies is, of course, Google. This means that all Google services won’t be available on the Mate 30 Pro.
That’s set Huawei back a long way as far as Western markets are concerned.
However, it didn’t really affect their sales that much because they’re pretty reliant on the Chinese and Asian markets where Google presence isn’t very widely felt.
That means that we’ve been deprived from buying one of 2019 and potentially 2020s most interesting phones.
Yet, that’s about to come to an end as Huawei announced today that they will be releasing the Mate 30 Pro in the UK.
The phone will be available to purchase from February 20th and will be sold exclusively via Carphone Warehouse.

In order to sweeten the deal, and probably to as a way to apologise for the rather long way, Huawei is throwing in a free Freebuds 3.
They’re also throwing in a free Huawei Watch GT smartwatch and fitness tracker.
This offer is only available to people who pre-order the phone, so what are you waiting for?
I’ve been using the Freebuds 3 for quite some time now and I love them.
I also am a big fan of my Huawei Watch GT smartwatch which lasts for weeks on one single charge.
Now, the Mate 30 Pro might not come with access to the Google Play Store, but it’s a real powerhouse of a smartphone.
It has a beautiful 6.53-inch ‘waterfall’ edge-to-edge screen called ‘horizon display’ and four rear cameras in a circular housing.

It also has a large front-facing notch housing a trio of selfie cameras.
Added to this, it’s 5G-compatible with a top-end Kirin 990 chip and a 4,500mAh battery which will allow it to last for ages.
You might not be able to get apps like Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps, but you’ll have one of the very best phones on the market.
There are always other apps available through Huawei’s own app store, which they’re piling money into at the moment.
