It’s that time of the year again! It’s the time of the year when we all here at Small Screen get together and reveal our top TV shows of 2020. What we’ve done is chose 5 of our favourite TV shows from 2020 each. This hasn’t been easy for us, because there actually has been a lot of good TV shows to come out this year.
There’s also the fact that the year still isn’t quite finished, and there’s always one show that comes in towards the end of the year that people really end up loving. Last year, there was The Witcher Season 1, for instance. I ended up putting that TV show in my top 10 of 2019, but it came in very, very late.
There have been all sorts of great TV shows in 2020. There have been brilliant dramas, thrillers, horrors, superheroes shows, Star Wars shows, sci-fi shows… There have been so many great series that it’s not an easy thing to chose just five, but our writers have done it. So, without any further ado, here are Small Screen’s writers top 5 TV shows of the year 2020:

So, if we’re going to take our writers’ choices over here at Small Screen, then it seems as though the clear winner as far as networks and streaming services are concerned is Netflix. And, I would take our writers’ seriously on this front because they do love to watch TV shows. Netflix has the most shows in these top five lists with the likes of The Crown, Dead To Me, The Queen’s Gambit, The Haunting Of Bly Manor, The Last Dance and Lucifer all ending up in our writers’ top five TV shows of 2020. Some of them, like The Crown, Dead To Me, The Last Dance and The Queen’s Gambit turning up in multiple lists.
