It’s being reported that Henry Cavill is going to be making another James Bond-type movie with filmmaker, Matthew Vaughn, which is terrific news! So, it seems as though this new James Bond-type project could be Argylle 2.
Cavill and Vaughn have been working on a movie together called Argylle. In the movie, Cavill will be playing a spy, and it’s now being claimed that they are already planning on making a sequel.
The movie is being made for Apple Studios, and it’ll be coming to Apple TV Plus later on this year. We still don’t have an official release date yet, but we do know that the movie is going to be released on the streaming platform at some point this year.

According to Giant Freakin Robot’s ‘trusted and proven sources’ Cavill and Vaughn are going to be working on another spy-thriller together. They weren’t specifically told that it was going to be Argylle 2. However, their source wasn’t able to confirm whether that was the case.
The first Argylle movie is based on the upcoming thriller novel by Elly Conway, and Penguin’s profile page for the author says she’s “currently working on the next instalment in the [Argylle] series.” So, if Argylle was picked up before the novel even hit bookshelves, it seems as though Apple and Vaughn are very interested in exploring this universe even further.
I think it makes a lot of sense that Apple Studios might want to adapt the upcoming sequel novel. This is, of course, all dependent on whether the first film performs well on the streaming platform.
As for this upcoming Argylle movie, the film will feature Henry Cavill in the lead role. He’ll be joined by a pretty incredible ensemble cast including the likes of Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Dua Lipa in her debut film role (she’ll also provide music for the film), Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney, and Jing Lusi.

One of the things that Cavill fans might be wondering is whether this news means that Cavill will not be playing James Bond in the future. I’m going to be honest with you here, I don’t think Cavill will get to play the iconic spy.
There have already been reports stating that the Bond producers have met with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and they had a really good meeting with the actor. It seems as though the Bullet Train actor is the frontrunner for the role at the moment.
Also, Cavill is going to have his hands pretty full with the Warhammer 40K series and subsequent cinematic universe. It was revealed that the actor was going to be playing the lead in the series, and will also help develop the cinematic universe that Games Workshop and Amazon Studios are keen on getting started.
Cavill was considered by many to be one of the top contenders to take over the role of 007 after Daniel Craig. However, it’s looking like his future might lie elsewhere.
