Henry Cavill is now the favourite to be the next James Bond according to the current betting odds. However, I’m not sure the actor will get the gig. I’ll explain why in a moment. Yet, before I go into that, I wanted to go over where these new betting odds can be found. These betting odds can be found at VegasInsider, and there have been some really interesting movements in the betting markets regarding who’s going to be playing 007 next.
We’ve been monitoring the betting market for quite some time as far as the next James Bond actor’s concerned. It’s quite an interesting way to get an idea of who people think will get to play 007 next. Now, the top name on the list is Cavill, which is a pretty good shout. He recently took over from Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page, who was number one until recently. You can get odds of 61/24 on Cavill to be Bond next. This means that according to the markets, Cavill has a 28.24% chance of being named as the next actor to play the British secret agent.

Here’s what a VegasInsider spokesperson had to say about Cavill being the favourite to play Bond next:
Cavill is everywhere right now – Enola Holmes 2, the recent announcement of season 3 of The Witcher… He is also set to star in the Matthew Vaughn spy thriller Argylle, which is supposed to come out in 2023. It will definitely be interesting to see how that will affect the odds in the upcoming months.
Interestingly enough, Cavill was almost cast as Bond before Craig got the role. It was between him and Craig, and the producers went for Daniel; the rest is history. However, the Man Of Steel actor might get his chance to play 007. That said, some other interesting names are on the list of potential actors to play Bond next.
James Norton is the second favourite to play 007

In the latest update, James Norton moved past Regé-Jean Page as the second most likely 007 with odds of 57/14, implied probability: 19.72%. Here’s what a VegasInsider spokesperson had to say about Norton’s chances to play 007:
Norton has been in the top 5 for the last few months, but this time around he finally cracked the top 3. It will be interesting to see how his position changes in the next few weeks.
Regé-Jean Page, the Bridgerton star, is not far behind in the third spot with odds of 23/5. Here’s what a VegasInsider had to say about Page’s chances to play Bond:
Page is still in a great position. He had his big breakthrough, yet he is a fresh face and young enough to be able to potentially commit to the role for a long time, which is what the producers want according to the latest reports.
Idris Elba has now dropped out of the running after the franchise’s producers revealed that they were looking for an actor in their 30s to play the role next. This means that Elba is just a bit too old to be considered for the role, which is a shame. He would have been excellent as 007.
