HBO Max Looking At Casting An Actor Of Colour As Constantine In The Series

It’s been revealed that HBO Max is looking at casting an “actor of colour” to play Constantine in the upcoming Constantine series. This news comes to us via The Illuminerdi.

They were the ones to break the story that HBO Max was working on a Constantine series with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot company. They’re making a bunch of shows for HBO Max based on DC Comics properties. We already knew that they were making a Justice League Dark series, and we’re now hearing that they’re also in the process of developing a Constantine series.

We’re now hearing that they want an actor of colour to play Constantine in the series, which sounds pretty cool to me. One thing I really hope they do is get a British actor to play the role because the character is a Brit. It’s actually a pretty important part of the character.

Here’s what The Illuminerdi had to say about HBO Max wanting to cast an actor of colour as Constantine:

The production is currently searching for an actor for the lead role, with the hopes of casting a BIPOC actor in their late 20’s, similar to a young Riz Ahmed.

It has been revealed that Riz Ahmed hasn’t been approached for the role, but he would be perfect. Who do you think could play Constantine in this series?
