Gwyneth Paltrow is still turning heads, but this time due to her choice of specs reminding people about the infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Sporting a pair of glasses during a court trial, fans take to Twitter to relieve their opinion that it is uncannily like Dahmer’s look.
Despite her self-imposed distancing from anything Hollywood, Gwyneth Paltrow still captures attention for her fashion attention even in such serious times. Perhaps as a celebrity, and one of her level of popularity and credentials, she will never get to catch a break in making sure that people see her in top-tier style.
Never mind that she may have just gotten the pair because she just happened to ‘throw pieces together’ before going to court. Not to mention that the glasses belong to her product line under the brand Goop. Then again, maybe she wanted to make the look her own. Or perhaps she just liked it and not actually intending to make a statement?
Instead of focusing on the reason why she was required to show herself before the courts, people opted to focus on what she wore and who she looked like. However, given that this is a courtroom situation and people are comparing her to a serial killer, it just doesn’t give off a good image of her under the circumstance.

Various posts on twitter, via Giant Freaking Robot, state the resemblance of the Oscar-winning actress to the Milwaukee Monster. One tweet from @Outkick even has a side-by-side photo attached to their post saying:

Obviously, people didn’t dig the look and weren’t really cautious in putting their impression into words on social media.
Paltrow appeared in a courtroom in Utah as the defendant in a skiing incident resulting in a traumatic brain injury of a retired optometrist, Dr. Terry Sanderson. The lawsuit claims that back in 2016, a collision on a slope at Deer Valley Ski Resort which Paltrow has been deemed responsible, left the doctor with physical injuries. Including the trauma to his brain are four broken ribs and other serious injuries.
The doctor is suing for $300,000 in damages, amended down from a previous filing for $3.1M, while Paltrow is countersuing for $1.
In an article from NBC News, Gwyneth Paltrow’s lawyer disputed an eyewitness testimony saying that the actor crashed into another skier, injuring him. The actor denies being at fault on February 26th, 2016. She believes that Sanderson is exploiting her wealth and status as a celebrity.
Paltrow and Sanderson both dispute who is initially at fault with regard to the collision. Specifically, which one of them was farther up the hill at the time of the crash? Based on Deer Valley’s website, the person ahead or downhill has the right of way.
This established that Paltrow has the right of way since Sanderson’s attorney alleged that Paltrow was not looking as if she was going downhill. The lawyer stated that the actor was looking at her children instead.
The eyewitness stated that after the collision, Paltrow did not even ask if the doctor was alright and then left the scene about 4 minutes after. It was the eyewitness who was able to get help from the attendants to get the doctor the immediate medical attention he needed.

On the other hand, Gwyneth Paltrow’s attorney disputed the account, saying that the doctor was responsible for the accident. Apparently, he was moving to avoid another skier and interlocked his skis with Paltrow’s when he collided with her from behind. According to the lawyer, Sanderson even apologized to Paltrow at the time and told a ski patrol from the resort that he was OK.
By the looks of things, the trial will be a he-said-she-said situation. Meanwhile, the trial is expected to take eight days. These include testimony from medical professionals and Gwyneth Paltrow’s children.
Instead of catching the public interest in the events that transpired that day, the news opened doors to a fashion trial for Gwyneth Paltrow. Not that it indicates her to be liable, but that people are saying she is channelling Dahmer during the trial about physical injuries.
It really is close to being hilarious if only there weren’t any real physical injuries involved. The fact that this is real life courtroom encounter should have had the public focusing on finding out the truth in the collision. But no. Social media decided that Paltrow’s choice of eyewear style is more important.
