Gwendoline Christie has been cast in Netflix‘s Wednesday series.

As reported by Deadline, the former Game of Thrones actress has landed the role of Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy.

The English actress, who stands at 6 ft. 3 in., will almost certainly play a principal whose bad side you probably don’t want to be on.

In a tweet announcing her casting, Netflix said that her character:

…still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams.

She joins a cast that includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams.

Al Gough and Miles Millar, the creators of Smallville, are set to write the scripts for the show, and they will also serve as the showrunners.

The show will also mark Tim Burton’s first foray into television.

First up for Christie, however, is a leading role in Netflix’s The Sandman series, where she will be playing the role of Lucifer.

Christie’s work as the honourable knight Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones saw her get nominated for an Emmy.

This role sounds perfect for her, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to this role.
