It’s being rumoured that Gina Carano might be getting her Cara Dune The Mandalorian spinoff series after all. This rumour comes to us from Daniel Richtman and his Holy Grail, or in other words, his Patreon page.
Now, I’ve said this time and time again here on Small Screen, but you have to approach Richtman’s scoops with a degree of skepticism. It often feels like he throws a lot of stuff out there and sees what sticks.
This means that some of his stuff does stick. He’s posted a lot of scoops on his page over the years that have turned out to be true. Then again, even a broken clock is right twice a day. That said, this doesn’t mean he doesn’t get information from legitimate sources. Maybe he does. I don’t know the guy personally, and he hides his content behind a paywall, so it’s not easy to really hold his scoops up to some kind of scrutiny unless you pay to read them.
Is Gina Carano’s Cara Dune getting her own The Mandalorian spinoff show?

Now, I’ll make it very clear here, I got this news via We Got This Covered. That’s just to make it clear that I do not pay to read Richtman’s scoops. OK, so let’s get on with what he’s reporting.
According to Richtman’s sources, Gina Carano is going to be getting her Cara Dune show after all. This comes after the actor has received a lot of hate on social media for her political views and she’s also been called transphobic. Now, I’m not going to get into the weeds of who said what here, but I do have to say that I think the criticism aimed at Gina has been a bit over the top.
There have been calls for her to be fired, and I think Disney has stuck to their guns and opted to keep her in the fold, at least for The Mandalorian show. But, would they give her her own show? That I’m not so sure about. Firstly, I think that her character will be heavily involved in The Mandalorian going forward, and I’m also wondering whether she might also be involved in the other Mandalorian spinoff show, Rangers Of The New Republic.
Would they go ahead and give Gina Carano another series to be in? I don’t think so. But, I could be wrong. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
