This is going to be pretty big news for all you Ghostbusters fans out there. It’s been revealed that Ghostbusters: Afterlife will see Bill Murray return as Peter Venkman.
When Ghostbusters first came out in 1984, it was unlike anything people had seen before.
It was a movie about an odd bunch of guys who decided to make a ghost control company because they weren’t scared of no ghosts.
Anyway, that film’s spawned two movies since and we’re about to see our fourth Ghostbusters film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
There are a lot of reasons to be excited for this film. First off, the film’s trailer was great and teased a bit of a return to the old Ghostbusters we know and love, just with a little Stranger Things twist.
It’s also being directed by Jason Reitman who’s the son of Ivan Reitman who made the first two Ghostbusters movies.
It’s coming full circle, and even more so now given the fact that we’ve just learnt that Bill Murray will be making a return as Peter Venkman in the movie.

In a rare interview (via ComicBook.com), the actor revealed that he’s pretty happy with Ghostbusters: Afterlife and even let slip some vague plot points, saying:
Well, we are a man down. That’s the deal. And that’s the story we’re telling, that’s the story they’ve written. The script is good, it’s got lots of emotion in it. It’s got lots of family in it, with through lines that are really interesting. It’s gonna work.
So that makes it official then. Murray is going to be in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and I couldn’t be happier.
What do you think of this? Are you looking forward to watching Ghostbusters: Afterlife?
