Early screenings of Marvel’s GOTG Vol 3 have positive reactions, with the audience calling the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie Marvel’s best. Coming to theatres worldwide, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is already in a position to pull strings to the audience’s hearts.
As the trailer promises, Rocket’s story will be among the main storylines of the franchise’s final movie for this Guardians team. James Gunn, as its writer and director, is bringing the team’s story to a close. Any chance for a follow-up movie after this one? Time will tell after his contract with the company over the fence, DC Studios.
Starring Chris Pratt as Starlord, Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula. Also returning for the movie are Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Dave Bautista as Drax. Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper come back to voice Groot and Rocket, respectively. Joining them are Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and many more.

According to ComicBook.com, first reactions are highly positive regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Just last Saturday, industry media got to see the movie as the cast attended an event in Disneyland Paris. The report indicates positive reactions to the film. Apparently, many of those who got to see the movie commend the movie’s accomplishment in using different tones in its storytelling.
There were remarks about the movie succeeding in adding darker tones to its more well-known comedy flair. Early viewers spoke about heartbreaking points in the movie but in very commendable delivery. As GOTG Vol 3 sets out to be this team’s last, some farewell tones can be expected. At the moment, the upcoming film will be Gunn’s and some actors’ last Guardians movie in Marvel, he said:
The last Marvel project, who knows, but I see it as my last Guardians movie. I’m a guy who never says never because I’ve seen too many people say ‘never’ and be pulled back into the fray, so I wouldn’t say that. But I see it as being my last Guardians movie.
Specifically mentioning a close friend among the actors in the movie, Gunn stated:
I know Dave sees it as being his last Guardians movie, and Dave and I are pretty much attached to the hip on those projects. So I don’t see me going on and doing any more after that.

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is genuinely looking to be a great watch of a movie. Like the previous two films, the third movie will definitely showcase the band of misfits working together. More than a crew that found each other, the Guardians have somehow become each other’s chosen family over the years and their adventures.
The first Guardians of the Galaxy movie premiered in 2014 with 92% on the Tomatometer. It also got a 92% audience score. The second movie got a lower rating of 85% on the Tomatometer, with an 87% audience score.
Last Christmas, we got to take a peek into how the Guardians spent the holidays together, and it reflected a higher score on the Tomatometer with 93% but with a much lower 80% on its audience score.
Still, these numbers have an indication that the franchise is still among those that are within the upper tier of reception not only for Marvel movies but within the industry in general. Certainly, many would be reliving the memories while watching the movie.
In the meantime, the first two movies and the Holiday Special are available to stream on Disney Plus. We know a lot of people will rewatch the franchise before seeing the new movie. That is, if only to refresh the story for continuity.
