They’ve arrived, finally. The Knights of Ren will feature in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and we have had our first proper look at them in this picture below.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be the last film in this latest Star Wars trilogy. The last film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, came out to mixed reviews.
Personally, I loved it, but there is a very vocal group of Star Wars fans out there that didn’t appreciate it and one of the reasons they weren’t so keen on the movie was because writer and director, Rian Johnson, seemed to just ignore all the things that J.J. Abrams had set up in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
One of those things was the Knights of Ren which were teased in the first film during Rey’s flashback scene. Well, it seems as though they’re going to have a bigger role in The Rise of Skywalker and that there could actually be a fight involving the group of Force users.
This comes courtesy of an article in Vanity Fair which offers an insight into the filming of the movie. In the article, there are interviews with cast members such as Oscar Isaac as well as Abrams himself.
But it was the picture that stuck out to me showing the Knights of Ren being directed by Abrams alongside his Stunt Coordinator Eunice Huthart whilst shooting in the desert.
Meanwhile, the article went on to say: “Sources at Disney also confirm that his long-rumoured Knights of Ren will finally arrive in Skywalker.”
And they then quoted Adam Drive, who plays Kylo Ren in the movie, who said: “And then he had been forging this maybe-bond with Rey, and it kind of ends with the question in the air: is he going to pursue that relationship, or when the door of her ship goes up, does that also close that camaraderie that they were maybe forming?”
It all sounds very intriguing indeed and could result in a high entertaining Star Wars film with a great battle between Kylo and his Knights of Ren on one side, and Rey and her allies on the other.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to hit UK theatres on December 19th, 2019.
