We finally have our first look at Hughie (played by Jack Quaid) in The Boys Season 4, which should be coming to Prime Video later this year or early next year. It really does seem as though the people behind this show just love covering poor old Jack Quaid in blood and guts.
I’m pretty sure that his character, Hughie, has been covered in blood more than any other character on the show. I think it’s just become a thing that every season, Hughie will end up covered in blood somehow, and it looks like in The Boys Season 4, that very thing is going to happen again.
In their caption, The Boys’ Twitter team writes that it’s the first time Hughie’s been “covered in blood,” however, I know that this isn’t true in the slightest. Hughie ended up covered in blood and guts in the show’s very first episode.

The scene in question could be considered to be Hughie’s origins story, since before the moment when he was standing on the edge of a street curb with his girlfriend only to then see her be completely obliterated into nothingness when A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) literally runs right through her, Hughie was a normal happy guy.
However, standing on that street curb, still holding his girlfriend’s hands and covered in her blood and guts, a new version of Hughie was born – a man who would stop at nothing to eliminate the corporation that created these ‘superheroes’.

It’s a pretty incredible origins story, it has to be said, and it seems as though Hughie is going to get into even more trouble in the upcoming fourth season of the show. It’s been teased that Hughie might be getting his hands even dirtier in the upcoming season of this hit Prime Video show!
Usher previously teased that this upcoming season would be the most gruesome one yet, which is saying something. While plot details surrounding the superhero-centred show are being kept firmly under wraps, we do know that a slew of new actors will be joining the ranks, leaving multiple doors open for what could happen next.
We’ve already heard that Simon Pegg, who played Hugh Campbell Sr., aka Hughie’s dad, in the first season, would be returning to play the role in the fourth season. He’ll be joined by Rosemarie DeWitt, who will be appearing as Hughie’s absent mother.
When will the fourth season be released on Prime Video?

The new season of the show will also introduce new superpowered individuals such as include Valorie Curry’s Firecracker and Susan Heyward’s Sister Sage with Titans star Elliot Knight joining the cast in an undisclosed role.
Last year, series creator Eric Kripke cast Supernatural alum, Jensen Ackles, as Soldier Boy and it seems as though he’s at it again! It’s been revealed that fellow Supernatural stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Rob Benedict have been cast in the fourth season.
As of right now, no release date has been set for The Boys Season 4, but it does seem as though the season will be released on Prime Video in either late 2023 or early 2024. Keep it with us here at Small Screen for any new developments in this awesome series!
