With us all being in lockdown at the moment, I thought it was a good time to recommend the best show to watch on Amazon Prime Video, Firefly.
There are a whole load of great shows on Amazon Prime Video.
Off the top of my head I can think of the likes of The Expanse, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Jack Ryan.
They are all great shows that you can binge-watch right now.
However, if you’re looking for one of the best shows available on the streaming platform that you haven’t really heard of before, then Firefly is the show for you.
It was a show that was made back in the 2000s and it only went on for one season before it was cancelled by FOX.

There are a whole host of reasons why the show was cancelled.
The main reason is purely down to FOX’s stupidity.
The show was aired in the incorrect order and therefore didn’t get the number of viewers it deserved.
Ever since the show was cancelled, Firefly has become something of a cult classic.
It starred the likes of Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin and Adam Baldwin.
It was created by Joss Whedon and I would argue remains one of his best ever shows (that’s right, even better than Buffy The Vampire Slayer).

But, what’s this strange called Firefly about, I hear you ask?
Firefly is a space-western drama about a bunch of misfits who are the crew of a spaceship called Serenity and it all takes place in the year 2517.
Nathan Fillion plays Captain Malcolm Reynolds and he does his best to get jobs to help him and his crew earn money.
They end up getting into all sorts of trouble and adventures.
The show was cancelled ahead of its time, but it did get a follow-up movie called Serenity.
The movie only really makes sense if you’ve watched the series.
It did serve as a nice way to end everything for the show’s many fans.
There have been calls over the years for a revival of Firefly.

However, it doesn’t really look too likely that we’re ever going to get it.
Amazon Prime could make it, but I’m not sure if they ever will.
Now that Fox has been bought by Disney, I’d imagine they’d own the rights.
However, I can’t see them making another season of the show.
