Fate: The Winx Saga Season 2 has just been released on Netflix, and naturally, fans are already asking about a Season 3. Will Netflix renew the series for a third season? If so, when could the third season of the hit show be released on the streaming platform? Who could star in it, and what could happen in a third season? These are all questions we’re going to try and answer in this article.
However, before getting into all of that stuff, I need to make it very clear that as it’s very early days, not all of the answers are out there at the moment. That said, the minute we hear any new information about Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3, we will update this article. So, without any further ado, let’s talk about the show’s third season and whether it’s happening or not.
Is Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 happen on Netflix?

But, before we get into all of that stuff, let’s talk about what this show is all about and where it actually comes from. So, let’s start off with the show’s official plot synopsis, courtesy of Netflix:
The coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
The show’s based on an Italian Nickelodeon animated series called Winx Club, created by Iginio Straffi. The series is produced by Archery Pictures in association with Rainbow, a studio co-owned by Iginio Straffi and Paramount Global. The series was also developed for Netflix by Brian Young, who also acts as the showrunner and executive producer. The series stars Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt and Elisha Applebaum in the lead roles.
As it stands, Netflix still hasn’t announced whether Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 is going to happen. However, I am expecting a decision to be made pretty soon based on how well the new episodes have been performing on the streaming platform. The show has been in Netflix’s Top 10 best shows list since the show was released on the platform back on the 16th of September. At the moment, it’s sitting in the fourth position (according to FlixPatrol).
So, I think it’s looking like the show will get a third season, but I think that Season 3 might be the show’s final season. The show’s cast all seem very keen to return for another round. “We want to leave them wanting more, which I think we did,” said Paulina Chávez, who joined in season 2 as earth fairy Flora, in a roundtable with RadioTimes.com. Abigail Cowen, who plays fire fairy Bloom, added: “We just hope for a season 3.”

Given the fact that we still don’t know whether Netflix is making a third season, it’s really hard to predict when they might release the third season on the streaming platform. However, I am pretty confident that Netflix won’t take too long before it starts production on the third season. I’m thinking that we should see Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 on the streaming platform towards the end of 2023. It could end up being pushed into 2024. However, I would not expect the third season to be pushed to 2025. With this show, however, new seasons have taken a bit longer to be made than other shows on the streaming platform. So, it could end up being released in the summer of 2024.

So, what’s going to happen in Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3? This isn’t such an easy question to answer since there’s no real source material here to lean on. Well, there is the cartoon. However, the show is very different to the animated series it’s based on. Season 2’s finale ended with the fairies’ big win against the witches. However, there was a pretty big twist with Sebastian being revealed to have been the bad guy pulling the strings from behind the scenes.
However, he’s now been taken down, but the portal to the realm of darkness he opened is still a big threat. Bloom is going to have to close the portal from behind, and that means that she’s stuck there, and that’s when she saw her birth mother, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to see her mother’s face in season three. There’s a lot of story to go over in Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3, and I’m hoping that season three will give us some of that. This will change everything that Bloom has ever known. Secrets will be revealed in season three.
Bloom’s mother’s true purpose will be revealed in season three, and fans of the show are hoping she’ll be good, but I don’t think so. Why has she locked herself away for so many years? That will be revealed, I hope, in season three.
Who could star in Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3?

If Fate: The Winx Saga Season 3 should get the green light, then I would expect to see the Alfea fairies all return. This means that the likes of Abigail Cowen (Bloom), Precious Mustapha (Aisha), Eliot Salt (Terra), Paulina Chávez (Flora), Elisha Applebaum (Musa), and Hannah van der Westhuysen (Stella) should all be returning for a third season.
I would also expect to see specialist leader Saul Silva (Robert James-Collier) return along with other key members Sky (Danny Griffin), Riven (Freddie Thorp), Dane (Theo Graham) and recent addition Grey (Brandon Grace). As for Grey, he was found to be a secret blood witch at the end of season two. However, the remorse he shows for his involvement in Sebastian’s plan – along with his growing feelings for Aisha – makes me believe that he should be back in a third season.
I don’t think that Miranda Richardson as Rosalind, Ken Duken as Andreas or Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, will return for a third season, given that they (SPOILERS) died at the end of the second season. However, there was a somewhat cryptic tease about Beatrix having two sisters. This is actually a direct nod to the original Winx Club animated series. I wouldn’t be shocked to see them come into play if the show returns for Season 3. Finally, another key role that would need to be cast is Bloom’s mum, who we see very briefly in the final scene of season two, but her face is never revealed. Could it go to a major guest star? Abigail Cowen jokingly named Nicole Kidman as her dream choice for the role.
