Fantastic Four Cast To Feature This Netflix Star?

The Fantastic Four cast is something that people are really interested in knowing more about, and there seems to be a new name in the mix. Namely, it’s being reported that Penn Badgley – the star of Netflix’s You series – is in the mix to play Reed Richards in the upcoming Marvel movie. This news comes to us via The Direct.

So, Penn Badgley has been a name that’s been thrown around Hollywood as far as potential actors who could play Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is concerned. Badgley is the star of Netflix’s hit series, You, and should he be cast as Mr Fantastic, he would join previous actors Ioan Gruffudd, Miles Teller, and John Krasinski in playing the iconic Marvel Comics character. Gruffudd played the role in the 2005 movie and then again in the film’s sequel, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I always thought he was great in the role and wanted to see him return as the character in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

We then got to see Miles Teller play the role in Josh Trank’s 2015 movie, which was a complete disaster. However, I would argue that Teller wasn’t one of the issues in that movie. The movie as a whole was the problem. It was poorly written, poorly directed and poorly edited. The movie was a victim of studio interference, and I don’t think that Trank was really ready to helm such a big blockbuster for 20th Century Fox.

Finally, we saw John Krasinski make a cameo as Reed Richards in this summer’s big Marvel Studios blockbuster, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. I actually thought that Krasinski was fine as Reed Richards, but I’m not a fan of the idea of him playing the role in the upcoming MCU movie. I think they should go for younger, less established actors, which is why I think the idea of casting Penn Badgley as Reed Richards is a really good idea. He’s an exciting actor and certainly had the right look for the role.

So, I really do like this casting rumour. I think that Marvel would be smart to cast Penn in the role, and I really hope they go down this route. I have heard rumours that Krasinski isn’t the actor that Marvel has in mind to play Reed Richards in the MCU movie. I’ve also heard that we’re going to learn more about the movie’s cast at the upcoming D23 event. It would also make sense for Marvel to announce the movie’s director at this event.

The film was going to be directed by Jon Watts, but he ended up leaving the project. Marvel has now been casting a wide net to try and find the right person for the job. However, we’ve heard that Marvel is looking to hire WandaVision director, Matt Shakman to helm the project. I think that would be a good choice, and I would like to see what Matt could do with a big MCU movie. He did great work with WandaVision.
