Fans Say They Will Riot If This Happens In GOTG Vol 3

GOTG Vol 3 Has The Franchise’s Longest Run Time

GOTG Vol 3 builds anticipation for its emotional conclusion leading fans to say what they will do if a certain possibility actually happens. For some areas the movie arrives tomorrow, for the rest of the world, it’s on Friday, May 5, 2023.

Before the big screen debut of the intergalactic band of misfits back in August 2014, not a lot of people knew of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Drax, Groot, Rocket and Gamora. Later they added Mantis and Nebula, making the mix just a tad bit more chaotic.

Chris Pratt stars as Quill whose arc was predominantly the center for the previous movies. In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1, he treads his path from pirate to a hero who leads a group whom he eventually considers his family. Vol 2 shows him where he came from and allows him to come to terms about who he really is in the galaxy.

In Avengers: Infinity Warhe strengthened his bond with his crew and lost the love of his life. By Avengers: Endgame, he comes across another Gamora but one who does not share his feelings as she is the Gamora from the past. In Thor: Love and Thunder the Guardians have truly grown closer just like siblings.

The Holiday Special was the penultimate story to the team that started the franchise. They featured a holiday so precious on Earth to re-establish Quill’s origin while keeping his ties with his chosen family.

All teasers, promotions and trailers released for the upcoming movie no longer focus on Quill as the crew member, let alone its Captain. In fact, it seems that the third instalment of the franchise would focus on Rocket and his other set of friends.

In a separate teaser, they showed a younger Rocket stating his name for the first time while learning that of his friends Lylla, Teefs and Floor.

It was a touching scene that writer-director James Gunn shared on twitter that people are now expecting highly emotional scenes for the movie. As this will be the last for this group of Guardians, some are under the impression that one of them will reach an unthinkable end.

Fans react to James Gunn’s recent tweet about Rocket painting Lylla. It isn’t clear whether this will be in the upcoming movie or not but the movie is being positioned to be one of Marvel Studios’ most emotional entries to the MCU. The tweet merely says:

#GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 only in theaters Friday.

However, it did come with a video clip showing a young Rocket drawing on canvas. The frame moves sideways then focuses slightly behind Rocket to show his masterpiece: a portrait of Lylla highly similar to Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

The frame ends with Rocket smiling at the camera proudly as if saying ‘she’s pretty isn’t she?’

The Weapons Specialist of the Guardians looked so young and innocent. Even at that age he demonstrates his artistic creativity. Something he brought to the table when he built explosives and even a new arm for Nebula. He even knew a great piece of arm when he sees one in Bucky, the Winter Soldier.

Comments on Gunn’s post came in and the post now has more than 553, with more than 5,000 retweets, 43,000 hearts and more than 2.5M views. Needless to say, the tweet has already gotten around. It’s also evident that Rocket has amassed a fanbase of his own. One particular comment from ProgressWestAZ said:

If Rocket dies I am going to lose my SHIT no 🧢.

And just to be clear, the comment came with a gif showing someone totalling a door. Many are preparing for the waterfall of tears for the movie. Some who have already seen an advanced screening has stated it to be one of the best Marvel Studios has released after a long time.

True, the last Marvel Cinematic Universe phase, Phase 4 wasn’t exactly stellar in performance for all its entries. While it did successfully establish the multiverses, many projects were still received with a split-impression among fans. That is if they are lucky. There are those who are really vocal about movies that absolutely failed their expectations.

The upcoming GOTG Vol 3 movie is different though. Yes, they have said so with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but this time with Guardians, it seems really legit.

People knew about Groot. How he sacrificed himself for his friends in the first movie, then how those same friends raised him from sapling to tree. Rocket has seemed to be teaching him his tricks of the trade. Could the racoon be teaching Groot in case he kicks the bucket himself? It’s not like he can be replanted like Groot.

Drax has shown his story since Vol 1 as well and found a best friend in Mantis. As an empath who has such childlike innocence in reasoning, Mantis brings a unique perspective for the group.

Being the franchise’s last for the moment but likely last for the specific group, many are preparing to say goodbye to the ragtag misfits of the galaxy. Still, please don’t let any one of them die.

Catch GOTG Vol 3 starting this friday, May 5, 2023 starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff with many more.
