So, fans of the James Bond franchise have been desperately trying to get the films’ producers to realise that Idris Elba should be named as the next Bond.

They have now taken to Twitter to put their full support behind the British actor, and we are 100% with them.

One of the Bond producers, Barbara Broccoli has been very vocal recently about casting the next Bond.

She revealed in a recent interview that they are going to start looking for the next actor to play Bond in 2022.

I think this might be a bit late already, but that’s what she said.

She also revealed in the very same interview that the next Bond actor will not be a woman.

It seems as though as long as Broccoli’s in charge, Bond will never be a woman.

Fans really want Idris Elba to be cast as James Bond

Daniel Craig said something similar also, claiming that Hollywood needs to have better roles for women, and I get that and agree with it.

Anyway, as far as the next actor to play James Bond is concerned, Idris Elba is one of the names on the bookies’ lists.

However, he’s not that high up the pecking order, and that has to do with two things.

Firstly, he might be a bit too old to play Bond – he’s only three years younger than Daniel Craig, and that would be an issue.

Elba is 49 years old right now. Craig is 53, so there’s not that much of an age gap between the two actors.
