Extraction’s director, Sam Hargrave, has revealed that the Netflix hit movie was going to have a slightly different ending than the one we got.
The movie which was produced by the Russo Brothers and starred Chris Hemsworth has been a massive hit.
The streaming platform has a massive franchise on their hands with Extraction.
Much of that is down to the film’s ending, which is slightly ambiguous.
However, the film’s director, Sam Hargrave, recently revealed during an interview with GameRant that the movie’s ending was going to be less ambiguous.
Does Chris Hemsworth’s character, Tyler Rake die at the end of the movie?
It’s not so sure, but the decision could be left up to the viewer.

During this interview, the director told GameRant that the original plan was to make Tyler Rake’s death more certain.
However, the decision to make the final scene in the movie be more ambiguous was made by Netflix.
This happened after they tested the film with audiences, and they claimed that they would have liked something a little less grim.
The open-ended ending does feel much more ‘Hollywood’ than the one the Russo Brothers and Hargrave originally intended.
Extraction’s now proven to be a huge hit, and they’re already working on Extraction 2.
The fact that they’re working on a sequel seems to indicate that Rake survived at the end.
