Extraction 2 is coming, and we have our first look – courtesy of Netflix – at the upcoming action movie that stars Chris Hemsworth. You can check out the first look via the YouTube video that we have embedded below. This first look at the movie was part of Netflix’s Tudum event. Honestly, it really does seem as though they have cranked it up to eleven for this upcoming sequel.
In this first look, we’re given a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming sequel, and it really seems as though we’re going to be getting to see a heck of a lot more action in this movie than we saw in the first one. Chris Hemsworth will be back as Tyler Rake, and the movie is being directed by Sam Hargrave. Hargrave directed the first movie, and I still think that it’s one of the best action films I’ve seen in a long time.

I have to say that I was rather surprised when it was revealed that Netflix was going to be making a sequel to the first Extraction film. I felt like the ending of the first movie was pretty final. However, it seems as though Tyler Rake will be back for another action-packed flick. This time around, Tyler is going to find himself in some very cold weather trying to fight off a load of bad guys.
This first look at the movie shows how much crazy stuff they’re doing for the sequel. The movie’s director, Hargrave says in the video that because the movie has 2 in the title, it needs to have twice the action than the first movie had. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in this upcoming Netflix sequel. They filmed most of the movie in the Czech Republic, and it looks like it was a super cold shoot! Despite that, they were still able to land a helicopter on a movie train! That scene looks like it’s going to be incredible to watch.

Extraction 2 is set to debut on Netflix in 2023. The movie’s script was written by Avengers director, Joe Russo. The film is being produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO production company with Hemsworth also serving as a producer.
“I’m super excited, Hemsworth’s super excited, Netflix is excited so it’s really just a function of getting the script done,” Russo previously revealed in an interview with ComicBook.com. “Finding passionate engines behind stories requires an incredible amount of lifeblood to get a movie made, and you know, you need an engine, you need a creative engine, you need someone who’s excited. And you know Sam was a close friend because we’d done work with him for almost a decade, almost a decade on the Marvel films. We knew how talented he was and that he could make the transition.”
