It’s been revealed to us by insider sources close to Zack Snyder’s Justice League that the movie will consist mostly of never-before-seen footage.
Rather than spending ages beating around the bush, let’s just get straight into what we were told by our sources. Here’s what an insider source told me regarding Zack Snyder’s upcoming cut of Justice League:
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is going to be a very different beast to what we saw in cinemas. It’s going to feature mostly never-before-seen footage. It’s looking pretty amazing already.
That was incredibly positive and really got me in the mood to see this upcoming cut of the Justice League. I did ask this source how much never-before-footage would be in the movie, and they estimated that it was between 70 to 80% of footage that we haven’t seen yet.
This was the first I’d heard about what is basically a Justice League series being mostly new footage, and it’s in line with what Ray Fisher recently revealed during an interview with Geek House Show.
During that interview, he revealed that only one scene he shot with Zack ended up in the movie. That was the rooftop scene with Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash and Commissioner Gordon.
As fas as I’m concerned, that was one of the best scenes in the movie. There was some of Zack’s footage that had to be converted from film to digital; however, it seems as though the brunt of it just wasn’t used at all in the theatrical cut.

We already know that the film will feature scenes with Darkseid, who was played by Ray Porter yet his scenes didn’t end up in the movie. There are a whole load of other scenes that were in the trailers that never saw the light of day.
One of the most famous scenes is when Cyborg said: “You should probably move”. That scene was just never in the movie at all. There are a whole bunch of other scenes and lines from the first trailers that just didn’t turn up in the film.
That can sometimes happen; however, in Justice League’s case, the movie we ended up getting was not the film that was advertised to us in the beginning.
Then there’s the fact that Snyder is filming additional photography on his cut as we speak. We know that the likes of Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot and even Jared Leto are involved in those.

So, what does this all mean for Snyder’s cut of the ‘film’ (I really don’t know what to call it sometimes. Is it a movie or a series?). Well, it means that it will barely resemble the film that came out back in 2017.
That movie was very much not Zack Snyder’s vision. It wasn’t his movie at all. It was the product of Warner Bros. Pictures executives and Joss Whedon. It ended up being an incoherent mess of a film.
Hopefully, this upcoming cut will have a more guided and coherent vision. This will be the film that Zack Snyder wanted to make in the first place.
It could even end up being what he had envisioned the two-part Justice League movie would be. Given it’s going to be four hours long, that could be very possible.
Snyder wanted to make a Justice League Part 1 and Part 2. That was the original idea, and he even had ideas for more movies floating around in his head.

So, it looks like we’re finally going to get to see the vision that Snyder wanted to bring to the big screen. Unfortunately, as it stands, we’re not going to see it on the big screen, but beggars can’t be choosers.
We should be thankful that this is coming at all. It looked for a very long time that it wasn’t going to be released. But, it will be with us in 2021 and will be released on HBO Max.
It’s been rumoured that there are plans to release it in cinemas at some point. However, that will depend on what happens regarding the current Coronavirus pandemic. It’s also still unsure how or on which platform Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League will be released outside of the US.
I’ve been looking into that myself. At the moment, it seems like the only place in the UK where we’ll be able to purchase the four-part Justice League event is through Sky, which kind of sucks. Not everyone is the UK has access to Sky TV.
