UPDATE: This EXCLUSIVE article on Tobey Maguire being in Doctor Strange 2 has just been CONFIRMED by Andy Signore over at Popcorned Planet. You can check out his video on YouTube here.
It’s been revealed to us by sources close to the project that Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange 2 will feature Tobey Maguire as his version of Spider-Man. The sources did also add that it would be a cameo appearance and involve the Multiverse.
It was recently suggested by the film’s plot synopsis that Doctor Strange himself will be the man who ends up opening the MCU up to the Multiverse. This will end up unleashing an “unspeakable evil”. However, it also sounds like we’re going to be seeing some friendly faces as well.
We already reported that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will be in the movie, and we’re now being told that Tobey Maguire will be re-teaming with his Spider-Man movies director, Sam Raimi in Doctor Strange 2.

Here’s what we were told by one of our sources regarding Tobey Maguire being in Doctor Strange 2 as his version of Spider-Man:
Tobey Maguire is going to be in Doctor Strange 2. He’s going to be playing his version of Spider-Man. He and Sam Raimi are really excited to be working together!
A second source also confirmed this to be true, and they added that Maguire’s Spider-Man will be introduced in Doctor Strange 2 (otherwise known as Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) via the Multiverse. Here’s what they said:
Yes! Tobey’s going to be in the project. It’ll be his Raimi version of Spidey and he’ll be introduced through the Multiverse. It might be just a brief cameo though.

It was already reported by multiple outlets that Maguire will be returning as his version of Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3. However, we were told differently. We were told that Maguire and Andrew Garfield have signed on to return as their respective versions of Spider-Man.
Yet, they won’t be in Spider-Man 3. We were told they will be heavily involved in Spider-Man 4. It now seems as though they’ll be first introduced in Doctor Strange 2.
Their roles within the MCU could end up being expanded upon in a possible live-action Spider-Verse movie. We were informed by multiple sources that this was Marvel and Sony’s endgame – to have a live-action Spider-Verse movie.
This could all be leading into a live-action Spider-Verse movie set in the MCU

This all comes after Maguire, Garfield, Tom Hiddleston and Ryan Reynolds’ involvement in Doctor Strange 2 was seemingly leaked by Google. If you go onto Google now and type in “Doctor Strange 2”, under the cast list you’ll see all of their names listed as being part of the movie.
Our sources then went on to confirm that the Google leak was indeed correct, yet it’s strange that Marvel and Google haven’t since taken down the cast list which seems to be spoiling the movie. Perhaps they will end up taking it down towards the end of the week once they realise the mistake.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is set to hit cinemas on March 25th, 2022. Hopefully, they’ll be able to make that release date. Fingers crossed the whole COVID-19 pandemic would have died down by them. I mean, it must do, right? (I probably just jinxed it then).
