This comes straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, as it was revealed to us by Jeremy Webb himself that he’ll be directing the very first episode of The Umbrella Academy Season 3. If you look up Jeremy Webb’s career on his IMDb page, it’ll be hard not to be impressed.
Webb has been very much a constant presence in The Umbrella Academy. He directed three episodes of the show so far. He directed I Heard A Rumour and Changes in Season 1 and went on to direct The End Of Something in Season 2, which was the season’s epic finale episode.
He’s since revealed to us that he’ll be directing the first episode of The Umbrella Academy Season 3. Webb told us that he wasn’t able to reveal all that much about what will happen in the next season.

Now, we’ve spoken to Jeremy a few times about his career and involvement in Netflix shows such as The Umbrella Academy and Altered Carbon. However, what you might not know about him is that he’s was nominated for an Emmy for his iconic Downton Abbey episode.
Since getting that nomination back in 2013, he’s gone on to work on some of the most popular shows ever made. He’s directed three episodes of Netflix’s The Punisher. Webb also helmed episodes of shows such as Legion, Fear The Walking Dead and Runaways.

As for The Umbrella Academy, it really does seem as though Netflix thinks there’s a lot of life in this show. We’ve been informed that they are already working on Season 4. They see this as a five-season show, which is a lot for Netflix as they tend to stick to two or three seasons for original content. Mainly for budget purposes.
Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series of the same name by Gerard Way, with artwork by Gabriel Bá. It was created for Netflix by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater. Incidentally, Steve Blackman has just signed a multi-year overall deal with the streamer.
“Over the past three years working with Netflix, I have developed and created shows with different genres. I plan on continuing to develop creative programming that spans a wide variety of worlds and formats. Netflix has offered me an unparalleled level of creative support that motivates me each and every day,” said Blackman in a statement via Variety.
