The Haunting Of Bly Manor has just landed on Netflix, and we’re now being informed that work on the sequel is already going ahead.
It seems as though viewers are being seriously freaked out by Netflix’s new horror series, The Haunting of Bly Manor.
This is a follow up to the brilliant The Haunting Of Hill House.
The first season was a take on Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name.
This new season was based on Henry James’ The Turn Of The Screw.
People have been coming to the end of this new season in Netflix’s ‘The Haunting Of’ series and have been wondering which story will they adapt next?
Our sources have informed us that Netflix is looking into adapting Susan Hill’s 1983 gothic horror novel, The Woman In Black.
This would be a pretty huge thing for them to do because of the popularity of the book and the previous films made that were based on the novel.
The Haunting Of Bly Manor’s sequel will be based on The Woman In Black

You might be aware of the 2012 film that was made starring Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.
If you’ve ever visited London, then you might have caught the incredible stage production of Hill’s novel.
I’m going to come clean here, I love the book.
It’s one of my favourite books of all time.
I think that Hill’s book is creepy, very scary, but also heartbreaking.
That’s what every good gothic horror tale should be.
If Mike Flanagan can adapt the book properly, then he might end up making the best and scariest season of his Netflix show to date.
Personally, I found The Haunting Of Bly Manor to be far less enjoyable than The Haunting Of Hill House.
One of the reasons is because they set it in England and didn’t bother to hire British actors.
I do not like hearing American actors try to do British accents. It never works.
Therefore, if they are to adapt The Woman In Black, which I’ve been told Flanagan is really keen on doing, they would have to hire more British actors.
The Woman In Black is the setting of Eel Marsh House

The really good thing is that they have an excellent British actor in Oliver Jackson-Cohen who would be the perfect choice to play the lead Arthur Kipps.
Then you could have the rest of the cast play the other characters and work on their accents.
You could also get some of the British actors that were cast in The Haunting Of Bly Manor to play supporting roles.
The young actors in The Haunting Of Bly Manor, Amelia Eve and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth to play creepy kids in their take on The Woman In Black.
Other cast members that could be up for roles in this new season could include Tahirah Sharif, Rahul Kohli and T’Nia Miller.
I have it on good authority that Flanagan and Netflix already have plans in place to take The Woman In Black story and expand on it.
There’s so much room to do that with Susan Hill’s story.
I think it would serve as an excellent basis upon which to make the scariest season of this horror series yet.
The Third ‘Haunting’ series will be called The Haunting Of Eel Marsh House

According to my source, Netflix and Flanagan have already settled on a name for what would be the sequel to The Haunting of Bly Manor.
It’ll be called The Haunting Of Eel Marsh House.
I think that has an excellent ring to it.
My sources informed me that Netflix has already made moves to secure the rights to Susan Hill’s book.
There have been three movies made which were based on Hill’s novel.
In 1989, ITV made a TV adaptation of The Woman In Black.
This was followed by the Daniel Radcliffe movie in 2012.
That then had a sequel, called The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.
This movie was then followed by its novelisation which was written by Martyn Waites.
I’m not sure whether Netflix is also looking to purchase the rights to the sequel novel.
However, they might be inclined to so that they can develop the story even further.
