EXCLUSIVE: Michael Keaton Has Signed On To Star As Bruce Wayne In An HBO Max Batman Beyond Series

We’ve recently been informed by multiple sources that Michael Keaton has signed on to star as Bruce Wayne in an HBO Max Batman Beyond series.

There have been all sorts of rumours surrounding Michael Keaton and him playing Batman in The Flash movie.

I thought it had already been confirmed by the film’s director Andy Muschietti (which it had been).

However, the other night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Keaton was playing rather coy about the whole thing.

He did end up admitting that they were having conversations, which means that they are talking about it.

It’s probably going to all come down to money in the end.

However, a few sources reached out to me today and yesterday regarding Michael Keaton’s time playing Batman in the future.

According to them, he’s actually just signed a deal with HBO Max that would see him play Bruce Wayne in an upcoming series.

Again, I asked my sources if they could be directly quoted and three of them agreed.

The first person who came to me with this news said:

Michael Keaton has already signed on to return as Batman in The Flash movie, and he’s just signed a deal with HBO that’ll see him play Bruce Wayne in a future series.

The second person informed me that the series is going to be based on Batman Beyond:

Michael Keaton has signed a deal with HBO Max to star as Bruce Wayne in a Batman series which will be based on Batman Beyond.

The third source who came to me with this said:

We’re all very excited over here. Keaton’s signed to star in a new Batman series with HBO Max. The word is that it’s going to be a Batman Beyond series.

This is something fans have been asked for for years now.

The idea of seeing Michael Keaton play Bruce Wayne in a Batman Beyond series is very exciting.

Now, they didn’t tell me anything more about what the show will be like, nor who will be the showrunner.

That’s probably because they have no idea yet.

However, this could end up being a huge coup for HBO Max.

Should they have a live-action Batman Beyond series on their books, then I’m pretty sure people will subscribe to their platform in their droves.

There’s also the fact that this could tie in with the DC Comics movies, which would be very exciting indeed.

I wasn’t told who might be in line to play Terry McGinnis in the show, if that is the route they decide to take with this new Batman show.

As far as my sources are concerned, it seems as though everyone involved in this deal is very excited, including Keaton himself.

Michael Keaton first played Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film.

The played the Dark Knight again in Batman Returns and is arguably one of the best incarnations of the caped crusader we’ve ever seen.

I think it would be really interesting to see him come back to play the role, however, it would be a very different Bruce Wayne.

He would be playing an older version of the character, who’ll be relying on someone else to do the work he did so brilliantly when he was younger.

Very happy to see this news and hope it’s live action as well. Overall great article with one exception. “He did end up admitting that they were having conversations, which means that they are talking about it.” Seems a bit redundant. Or like most readers don’t know the meaning of the word conversation.

He’s not signed up for a cameo; he’s going to play a large role in the film. As for a live action Batman Beyond, I’d rather see this lead into a 3rd Tim Burton movie. Warner Bros. was being picky back in the 90’s and still are today, which is why Burton never made a 3rd Batman movie, but if the Flash and Keaton’s return go over well, then they could atone for their attitude back then and allow Burton to make the film he was thinking of.
