EXCLUSIVE: Andrew Garfield Is In Talks To Cameo In Doctor Strange 2

We’ve been informed by inside sources that Marvel and Andrew Garfield are currently in talks over having him appear in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange 2. This comes after we were informed that the movie would also feature cameos from Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Tobey Maguire’s version of Spider-Man.

Andrew Garfield and Marvel are in talks over him playing his version of Spider-Man in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. The sequel, called Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is being directed by Sam Raimi. It’s already been confirmed that this film will see Stephen Strange open up the MCU to the Multiverse and what’s been described as an “unspeakable evil”.

Now, I’ve been asking around trying to find out what that “unspeakable evil” could be, however, I haven’t been able to confirm anything on that end yet. What I do know is that Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo will be the man who ended up forcing Strange’s hand.

It seems as though Strange will end up crossing paths with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man and now Andrew Garfield’s take on Spidey as well. These will be, according to my sources, brief cameos and they won’t play a huge part in the film’s plot.

However, what they will do is help bring Deadpool into the MCU once and for all, and they will also help to set up a Spider-Verse movie further down the line.

Here’s what one of my sources informed me regarding those ongoing talks with Andrew Garfield:

Garfield and Marvel are currently working out scheduling conflicts. Garfield is very keen on appearing in Doctor Strange 2, as is Marvel. They just have some final kinks to work out and also need to move things around.

This could all lead into Garfield showing up in a live-action Spider-Verse movie

So, it seems as though Garfield’s busy schedule could be the issue. However, he does want to return as his version of Spider-Man in the MCU. This deal, as I’m aware, seems to be linked to the Sony Pictures deal as well.

As I said, there is talk within Marvel and Sony of making a live-action Spider-Verse movie, and in order to make that happen, they want to ensure that Garfield and Maguire are both signed on. There were reports that they will be in Spider-Man 3. However, that’s not what I’ve been hearing.

I’ve been told that they will feature in Doctor Strange 2 first, and then they’ll start to tie into the other Spider-Man movies, before it all culminates in a live-action Spider-Verse film.

This film could serve as Sony Pictures’ Avengers movie, with the likes of Tom Hardy and Jared Leto both turning up as their Marvel characters (Venom and Morbius). This Spider-Verse film would also see the likes of Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and also Miles Morales.

It’s being rumoured that Sony and Marvel are gearing up to start auditions for the role of Miles Morales. It’ll be interesting to see who they end up casting in the role.

Marvel and Sony declined to comment on this story. I will get back to you as soon as I hear any new developments regarding Andrew Garfield and whether he’s signed on to Doctor Strange 2 or not.
