Peters, recognised for his versatile performances in a wide range of roles, is no stranger to the sci-fi genre. Known for his standout roles in projects like the X-Men movie and WandaVision, Peters’ addition to Tron 3 marks another significant milestone in his impressive career.

Although it remains unknown exactly who Peters will portray in the film, it has been confirmed that his role is a “major” one. This, of course, has sparked a flurry of speculation among fans and critics alike.

Tron: Ares is set to begin filming in Vancouver in August, with Joachim Rønning, of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales fame, at the helm. The screenplay is penned by Jesse Wigutow, known for his work on It Runs in the Family. At present, aside from Peters, only Jared Leto (Morbius) has been confirmed as part of the cast.

As a sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy, it’s conceivable that we might see appearances from stars of the previous film. Names such as Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Cillian Murphy are being floated, but as yet, no confirmation has been provided.

Given the scant information on Peters’ character in Tron: Ares, fans have taken to guessing who he might be playing. One suggestion revolves around the character of Canus, an “older” soldier program. However, this seems unlikely given Peters’ age.

Another possibility is that Peters could be stepping into the shoes of Cillian Murphy, who made an uncredited appearance as Edward Dillinger, Jr. in Tron: Legacy. Murphy’s commitments to other projects, including the upcoming film Oppenheimer, could prevent him from reprising his role, thus opening the door for Peters.

With Tron 3 in the pipeline and filming due to begin soon, excitement is building around the cast and plot details. Evan Peters’ reported involvement adds an extra layer of intrigue to this highly-anticipated sequel. Fans are eagerly awaiting further news on Peters’ role and the overall direction of the film. As more details emerge, the anticipation for Tron: Ares is sure to reach a fever pitch.

While we wait for official confirmation on Peters’ role, one thing is clear: his addition to the Tron universe is an exciting prospect that promises to bring a new dimension to this beloved sci-fi franchise.
