It’s been revealed that an End Of Watch series is currently in development with David Ayer acting as producer and co-writer, which is terrific news.
This news comes to us via Deadline, and I think that an End Of Watch series makes a lot of sense.
End Of Watch – the movie – stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña.
They are longtime best friends and LAPD partners who run afoul of a drug cartel.
The movie did relatively well at the box office and was received by critics.
David Ayer’s gone on to direct movie such as Suicide Squad, Bright, Sabotage, and The Tax Collector.

David Ayer’s big break came in the form of a script for the incredible movie, Training Day.
Ayer’s also directed films such as Harsh Times and Street Kings.
According to Deadline’s article, Ayer will be co-writing and executive producing a small screen adaptation of End Of Watch.
The show has already been given a script-to-series commitment by Fox.
It was also revealed that the premise of the series is roughly the same as the movie.
The story of the series is set to follow a pair of relatively inexperienced officers getting caught up in circumstances that eventually spiral out of control.
It’ll be interesting to see how the series works and offers a new spin on TV crime dramas.
