It’s been revealed to us and reported by various outlets that Emma Stone and her team are using Scarlett Johansson’s recent Disney lawsuit to improve her deal for Cruella 2.
This is what our source (which VERY close ties to Disney) had to say on the matter:
Yes. I can confirm that Disney and Emma Stone and her team are negotiating a contract for Cruella 2. Stone’s team is leveraging the Scarlett Johansson lawsuit against Disney to improve her deal on the sequel.
This news was also reported on by The Hollywood Reporter.
So, this is pretty interesting news because it means two things.
Firstly, it looks like Cruella 2 is definitely happening and is something that both Disney and Stone want to happen.
Secondly, it looks like Disney is already starting to feel the ramifications of the Johansson lawsuit.
This has happened even with the reported agreement between Disney and Johansson to settle things outside of court and supposedly away from the public eye.
The thing is, this battle between Disney and Johansson has already been very public.

Rather bizarrely, Disney made it public by commenting on it and also criticising the actress in the press.
That really was not a smart move by Disney and I’m pretty sure a move that would not have happened under their former CEO, Bob Iger.
However, things are very different now under their new CEO, Bob Chapek.
Mistakes are being made left, right and center by Chapek and his team.
The most recent one was the “experiments” comments Chapek made about Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’ release strategy.
Simu Liu and the film’s director really didn’t take too kindly to those remarks and made their feelings on them very clear and public.
Even though Chapek was referring to the release strategy of the film and not the movie in itself being an experiment, the terminology used was rather clumsy.
Anyway, what do you make about this news of Emma Stone and Cruella 2?
