However, Warner Bros is still tied to her because of this upcoming Aquaman 2 movie. She’s supposed to be starring in the movie as Mera. Heard played a big part in the first movie. However, it does seem as though people inside the movie studio have been trying to get her off the project.

During his testimony at the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial, Hamada revealed that they tried to remove Heard from Aquaman 2 (Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom). Hamada confirmed that the studio has tried to remove the actress from Aquaman 2 because of her “lack of chemistry” with its star, Jason Momoa. However, he didn’t stop there. He went on to reveal that the role of Mera was about to be offered to another actress. He didn’t mention which actress they had in mind to replace Heard in Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom.

Here’s what DC Films’ President, Walter Hamada had to say about Amber Heard’s lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa whilst filming the first Aquaman movie:

It was the concerns that were brought up at the wrap of the first movie, production of the first movie, which is the issue of chemistry, did the two have the chemistry. I think editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there and would we be better off recasting, finding someone that had a little bit more natural chemistry with Jason Momoa and move forward with that actor.
