Marvel Studios Reportedly Looking At Sam Raimi To Direct Doctor Strange 2

Doctor Strange 2, also known as Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, might have found its new director in Sam Raimi.

The Marvel Studios movie lost its director a few weeks ago when Scott Derrickson revealed he was leaving the project due to “creative differences”.

It’s now been revealed by Variety that Doctor Strange 2 could be directed by Sam Raimi.

They reported that Marvel Studios are talking to Sam Raimi with the idea of having the director helm Doctor Strange 2.

They do say that he’s in talks with Marvel so that means nothing is confirmed yet.

However, if he were to replace Derrickson as the director of Doctor Strange 2, I think he’d be an excellent choice.

Sam Raimi basically started the current wave of comic book movies we’re witnessing today.

Back in 2002, he made the first Spider-Man film and he then followed that up with Spider-Man 2 in 2004.

These two films almost single-handedly changed comic book movies forever.

Before that, films in the genre were a little bit like how video game movies are today.

They weren’t very good at all, although we had seen some good comic book movies, but nothing spectacular.

The Batman films in the late 80s, early 90s were pretty good.

Raimi also has a background in horror having made The Evil Dead films and we’ve heard that this upcoming Doctor Strange sequel will be rather spooky.

I do love the idea of Raimi coming back to direct a Marvel movie and one in the MCU.

Personally, I think he’s a much better director than Derrickson and I do hope they get him to sign on.

It would be very exciting to see Raimi come back to the comic book movie world.

What do you think? Would you like to see Sam Raimi director Doctor Strange 2?
