Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Strange 2) is currently undergoing some reshoots.
According to Twitter user @TheComixKid, the purpose of the reshoots is to allow the crew to fit some big-name cameos into the film.
The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the cast and crew have reassembled for an additional six weeks of shooting.
And it’s believed that they’re working six days a week on the additional photography.
What could be the reason for Doctor Strange 2 reshoots?

As per the below tweet, Marvel boss Kevin Feige is happy with how the film is heading.

So what is the purpose of these reshoots?
Well, your guess is as good as ours, given that much of the film is still shrouded in secrecy.
Production on the film had begun last year in London where COVID restrictions were still in place.
So perhaps now that most restrictions have been lifted, that gives the filmmakers a chance to film scenes with crowds more easily?
Or, given that the film is dealing with the Multiverse, the possibilities for surprise cameos are endless.
In any case, we can’t wait to see what Sam Raimi brings to this massive MCU film.
[Editor’s note] As for who the big-name cameos could be, your guesses are as good as mine!
I’m hoping for a Wolverine cameo in there! That’s all I want in life. [End of Editor’s note]
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on 6 May 2022.
