Doctor Strange 2, a.k.a. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, will not see Rachel McAdams return as Dr. Christine Palmer.
We weren’t 100% sure whether she was coming back for the Doctor Strange sequel or not, but it’s now been confirmed.
It was reported today by Variety that Sam Raimi was in talks with Marvel Studios to helm Doctor Strange 2.
They’ve been looking for a new director ever since Scott Derrickson left the project a few weeks back.
Within Variety’s article, they also revealed that Rachel McAdams won’t be returning in Doctor Strange 2.
She played Dr. Christine Palmer in the first Doctor Strange movie.
However, she was a bit of a secondary character in the movie and I felt they underused her massively.
So, rather than giving her more to do in the sequel, it looks like they’ve got rid of her.

McAdams could return as Christine in a future movie, but she definitely won’t be turning up in this sequel.
It does seem as though Chiwetel Ejiofor will be turning as Baron Mordo in the movie.
I also think he’s going to be the film’s villain, which makes sense given how the first movie ended.
The film’s plot says that one of Doctor Strange’s old friends turned enemy will return to destroy every sorcerer on Earth.
That could only be one person: Baron Mordo.
