Is The Disney Plus Mobile App Available In The UK? Here’s When Will We Get It

Now, Disney Plus may have released yesterday in the UK, but the mobile app on Android and iOS hasn’t been officially released yet over here.

So, I am now a Disney Plus subscriber, and I had a great time checking out the platform via my laptop yesterday.

However, at the end of the day, I just thought, “I might as well download the Disney Plus app”.

I’m not planning any trips or anything yet (thanks Coronavirus), but I did think that the app should be available to download too.

I was shocked to find out that the Disney Plus app hasn’t been made available in the UK yet.

I use an Android phone, so I thought that it could be something to do with the Google Play Store.

However, when I asked my housemate who uses an iPhone if I could check her app store, I found the same thing.

For some odd reason, Disney opted to release the streaming platform but not the mobile app.

This means that people won’t be able to watch Disney Plus via their phones or tablets at the moment in the UK.

The only way we can watch it is on our laptops.

Some people may be able to get the Disney Plus app on their smart TVs or via Sky, yet I don’t have a television.

I’m sure many people will be in the same boat as me.

So, I decided to do some digging into when the app was going to made available and I was just as shocked to find that no media outlet has mentioned this.

No one seems to be asking themselves or Disney when the Disney Plus app will be coming to the UK.

I couldn’t find any information anywhere and when I reached out to Disney for comment they never got back to me.

It really is incredibly frustrating because I can’t find any reason why the Disney Plus app wouldn’t have been made available at the same time as the streaming service was.

It’s also been up and running in other territories for months now.

So what’s the holdup? Why can we not download the Disney Plus app on Android or iOS?

Now, this issue might not be the same for everyone.

There might be some people who can access it, and these would be the people with VPNs, such as Express VPN.
