It’s been revealed that Showtime is going ahead with a Dexter revival limited series and Michael C. Hall is going to be returning.
This news was revealed by Deadline and it’s really pretty big.
Dexter finished with a bit of a whimper, which was just such a shame because it really was a brilliant show.
It starred Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, a blood-spatter analyst working at the Miami Police Department.
However, he had a secret: Dexter was also a serial killer.
Yet, rather than just going out and killing anybody, he would only kill bad guys.
I suppose that’s how he was able to sleep at night…
The show was so enthralling and I thought that there was an element of dark humour to it, but maybe that’s just me.
However, it’s coming back and I cannot wait to see this new Dexter revival limited series.

According to Deadline’s report, the series will also see the original showrunner, Clyde Phillips return.
Showtime has ordered a 10 episode series and it’s supposedly going to go into production in early 2021.
They’re apparently hoping for an autumn 2021 premiere date, which is interesting considering everything that’s going on right now (COVID-19).
Here’s what Showtime’s Co-President of Entertainment, Gary Levine had to say about the Dexter revival series:
Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago. We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world.
