Deadpool 3 is coming which is great news, but we’re still not sure whether it’ll be released as one of Disney’s Marvel movies or not, until now that is.
The movie will see Ryan Reynolds return as the Merc with a Mouth, and they’ve already revealed that they’re not going to tone down the movie, despite it now being made by Walt Disney Studios.
The film’s writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were talking to Screen Rant about their last movie, Zombieland: Double Tap, and that’s when they were asked about Deadpool 3.
They were specifically asked whether Deadpool 3 could still be R-rated despite being a Disney movie, and Rhett Reese revealed that it could because it won’t actually be released under that particular banner.
Absolutely, because I don’t think it’ll be under the Disney banner. Like, I don’t think when you go to Deadpool 3, there’s going to be a Magic Castle that appears. I think it’s going to be under the Fox banner, so yes.
That does make sense. It certainly looks like Disney will be released quite a few movies under the Fox banner, but they’re going to be calling it something else.
Deadpool 3 will be released under 20th Century Studios’ banner

It was revealed a few days ago that Disney is now going to be releasing certain films under the new banner, 20th Century Studios as opposed to 20th Century Fox.
It’s an interesting movie, and I suppose it makes some sort of sense given that Fox News is still around.
I’m pretty sure that Disney doesn’t really want to be associated with Fox News, and I can understand that feeling.
This also will allow Disney to make R-rated movies and they have a few more adult movie franchises after their acquisition of Fox.
They have the likes of Deadpool, Alien and Kingsman which are all big R-rated movie franchises, and Disney has had a policy of not releasing R-rated films.
There’s no release date yet for Deadpool 3.
