Deadpool 3, which is set to bring the character into the MCU, has actually started filming in the UK, with returning actors confirming the development. Marvel Studios has its release date for the movie slated on November 8, 2024. This was after the film’s initial release date, which was announced by the film’s star and producer, Ryan Reynolds, was pushed back by two months.
Nothing has been revealed about the movie’s plot. However, what we do know is that the film will finally bring Reynolds’ Wade Wilson with Hugh Jackman’s Logan together in a movie. This is something that Reynolds has wanted to happen for a very, very long time.
Despite the two actors’ attempts at describing what the movie will be about or how it will progress in a YouTube video, the whole story is still under wraps. Even though everyone already knows a lot of action and explosive scenes will be involved, that is to be expected from a third movie featuring the Merc with a Mouth.
What they did say was that they will not touch the events of Logan, where the eponymous mutant died in the year 2029. Reynolds officially declared that the story was a completely separate thing.
Months after the initial announcements, they added actors to their cast and brought many former cast members into the fold. The first one they confirmed to be in the movie was Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. Morena Baccarin is back as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Rob Delaney as Peter, Karan Soni as Dopinder and Stefan Kapicic as Colossus.
New characters in the upcoming movie will be portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen and Emma Corrin. Both characters are still undisclosed.

MovieWeb revealed that the much-awaited Deadpool 3 has finally started production. It’s quite likely that the production has finally cast every character. Up until recently, Jackman has been uploading numerous updates as to his journey back into a physique fit for Wolverine.

Although many comments on his social media account point out that whatever he does, he is indeed Wolverine in everyone’s eyes. Jackman adheres to a strict diet and bodybuilding program to get into mutant shape.

Even Colossus actor Stefan Kapicic is very much excited to come back to the project that will finally bring Deadpool side by side with Wolverine. Kapicic’s Instagram account via Movieweb featured an image in his stories indicating that production has indeed started.
Thus director Shawn Levy’s statement from more than a year ago has begun its realization. Levy has a very harmonious work relationship with Ryan Reynolds after two movies: Free Guy and The Adam Project. Last year, he declared that he’d be the “lucky son of a (bleep)” director to bring the two together. In an article from ComicBook.com, he said:
I’m not going to say where or how, but I absolutely will confirm my intention and determination to be the lucky son of a b*tch who puts those two magnificent gods in the same movie together. That will happen, and that will be me.
At the time, it was still just wishful thinking when people think about Wolverine actually getting featured in the threequel. People have wanted to see how the dynamics between the two characters would play out ever since Deadpool referred to him as Pulverine.

When the Disney and Fox merger pushed through, it was getting more evident that Deadpool might come into the MCU. The big question was how? Then Marvel Studios played up the multiverse card through its Phase 4.
Thanks to Doctor Strange 2, WandaVision, Loki, and Spider-Man 3, the Merc with a Mouth definitely can brandish his batons and colourful dialogue in all R-rating glory in a world where the rest of the MCU characters exist. Or is this some sort of an alternate universe thing? We don’t exactly know.
But what is sure to happen is that Disney and Marvel are keen on allowing the rating to be maintained for Deadpool 3. In an interview with EW, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige stated:
…we’ve got Hugh Jackman coming back for our first Deadpool film within the MCU. That’s our first R-rated film. To have Hugh come back is incredible. For me, personally, that is where I started.
Looking back, Feige was also there when Jackman started out playing Wolverine more than two decades ago. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:
I remember sitting behind the camera — well behind the camera — at his audition for the film. It was his first on-set audition, and he flew up to Toronto to do a read with Anna Paquin.
The idea that Jackman is returning to the character for Deadpool 3 is undoubtedly exciting for the executive, even just by thinking about it. He concluded:
For him, and for me, and I think for all of the fans of Marvel, it’s unbelievable what has happened in those 23 years. It’s very full-circle having him come back in this new Deadpool film.
