It’s been revealed that DC Studios are currently taking pitches for Henry Cavill’s upcoming Man Of Steel 2, in which he will be back as the iconic DC Comics superhero, Superman. This was revealed by Variety in a recent exclusive article they posted, and it sounds like things are full steam ahead over at Warner Bros. Pictures. This news comes after it was revealed that Cavill is going to be back as the Man Of Steel.
So, it looks like Warner Bros Discovery are soliciting writers’ pitches for the Chuck Roven-produced Man of Steel sequel. It seems as though we’re still quite a ways off from the movie being released. At the moment, we’re waiting to see who they end up going for, but I have an inkling that Warner Bros is desperate to get Christopher McQuarrie to both write and direct the movie.
What we do know is that the movie is definitely coming. According to Dwayne Johnson, all of this will eventually lead to a showdown between Superman and Black Adam, which could be called Black Adam V Superman (that’s a joke, by the way. Pretty sure it won’t be called that).

Cavill confirmed he was coming back as Superman in a video he shared on Instagram in which he revealed the following:
I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman. And the image you see on this post and what you saw in Black Adam are just a very small taste of things to come. So there’s a lot to be thankful for, and I’ll get to that in time, but I wanted to thank you guys most of all. Thank you for your support and thank you for your patience. I promise it will be rewarded.
We’re just going to have to wait and see how this all comes together. I cannot wait to see what happens with these upcoming DC Comics movies. This all comes after it was revealed that James Gunn and Peter Safran are now the co-CEO of the newly-formed DC Studios. I think that is a great appointment by Warner Bros Discovery, even though there are fans out there who weren’t best pleased to hear that Gunn was going to be steering the ship at DC.
Who could end up directing a standalone Superman movie?

As far as who could make this upcoming Superman movie, I only really have one name I want to see as the movie’s writer and director: Christopher McQuarrie. Cavill and McQuarrie worked together on Mission: Impossible – Fallout and loved working together. It was also reported that McQuarrie is at the top of Warner Bros’ wishlist.
However, there are some other names that could make a brilliant Superman movie. One of those names is Matthew Vaughn. Cavill and Vaughn have just finished working together on the upcoming spy-thriller film, Argylle, and it seems as though they have a brilliant working relationship. Another name that’s always attached to Superman is J.J. Abrams. however, I feel like his hands are full at the moment. Finally, there’s Zack Snyder, who’s already made a Superman movie in Man Of Steel, but something tells me he won’t be making another Superman film soon.
