Dave Bautista has revealed that he would love to be a part of James Gunn’s DC Universe, which means that the actor isn’t entirely done with the superhero movie genre just yet. There have been rumours about what Bautista is going to do next for a while.
This all comes after the actor revealed that he’s going to be calling it a day with the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is released in cinemas. However, it sounds as though the actor is still very much interested in working with James Gunn again in the future.
Gunn is now the co-CEO of DC Studios, and he revealed that he’s working on a bunch of projects and there’s a lot of planning going on behind the scenes. Gunn’s got a lot of stuff in mind for the future of the DC Universe, and it seems as though the Glass Onion actor very much wants to be a part of whatever he’s planning.

ComicBook.com’s Brandon Davis spoke to the Guardians Of The Galaxy actor ahead of the release of his next movie, M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin. However, the pair ended up talking a bit about Gunn and the fact that he’s now steering the DC Studios ship.
He was asked if he’d spoken to James Gunn about potentially joining the DC Universe. He admitted that he hasn’t talked with Gunn about the DCU officially, but they have spoken about the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The Army Of The Dead actor then revealed he didn’t want to be “that guy” that would congratulate someone on their new position while also trying to slyly proposition for a role. However, he did reveal that he would “love to be a part of the DC Universe.”

This all comes after it was revealed that James Gunn and Peter Safran would be announcing some of the upcoming DC movies slate tomorrow. They will be doing a press conference during which they’ll reveal what we can expect from the DC Universe.
Well, one of the questions I have now is which role is James Gunn thinking of handing to his close friend? There are so many roles in the DC canon that Bautista would be perfect for. However, there is one role that really sticks out, to me at least – Bane.
The actor has made it very public that he’s been interested in playing that character on the big screen. He’s even admitted to having meetings with Warner Bros. Pictures about the role.
Honestly, I don’t think there would be anyone in Hollywood better suited to the role of Bane than Bautista. He looks the part, and I think he has the acting chops to pull it off.
Moreover, James Gunn recently admitted that he would love to bring over some of his Guardians Of The Galaxy colleagues to the DC Universe, and I think that he would be very high up on the list of actors that he might be interested in getting to come over to the DC side of the superhero movie genre.
We’re just going to have to wait and see what ends up happening and whether we go get to see the Drax actor swap the MCU for the DC Universe.
