Daredevil Born Again is going to be bringing back Foggy Nelson, which I’m sure is news that many fans of the original Netflix show will be delighted to hear. This report comes to us from Daniel Ritchman (via ComicBookMovie.com), and I have to say that I’m not surprised to hear that Marvel Studios has opted to bring both the character and the actor back for the upcoming Daredevil reboot.
This new Daredevil reboot was officially unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con during Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel. It was arguably one of the biggest things that Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, unveiled on the day – along with the two upcoming Avengers movies: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. It was long-rumoured that Marvel was working on a new Daredevil show and that Charlie Cox would be returning as the iconic Marvel superhero. Well, it was finally officially revealed, and now we cannot wait to see what Marvel has in store for us as far as Hell’s Kitchen’s concerned!

So, all of this is to say that actor Elden Henson will be back playing Foggy Nelson in this upcoming reboot. We already knew that the show was going to star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. It was also officially revealed at D23 that Vincent D’Onofrio would be returning as the Kingpin in the series. So, it’s safe to assume that Kingpin will be the show’s main villain. Therefore, it was also safe to assume that Matt Murdock would need his partner, Foggy Nelson.
Nelson was a bit of a divisive character in the show. People started off by really liking him. However, as the show went on, people started to get a bit annoyed with Foggy. As far as I’m concerned, I loved Henson’s take on the character, and I think that all the issues people had with him were more down to the show’s writing and not his acting ability. I think that if Marvel Studios hires the right people to write the show, then I’m sure that Foggy will become one of the MCU’s most beloved characters.

As for this upcoming reboot and who’s actually working on the project, Kevin Feige and Chris Gary are listed as producers. The series was confirmed to be in development for Disney Plus in late May. It was revealed that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached as head writers and executive producers. It was also revealed that the show’s first season would consist of 18 episodes, which is the most of any Marvel Studios series so far.
The series is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in early 2024. We still don’t have an ‘official’ release date for the series. When asked what the show would be like, Charlie Cox described it as a “whole new thing” and confirmed that it wasn’t going to be a fourth season of the Netflix series. They are going to start filming the series pretty soon.
