It’s been revealed by Peter Stormare that Constantine 2 is currently ‘in the works’, which means we might be getting to see Keanu Reeves return as John Constantine. This news was revealed via Stormare’s own Instagram account.
Peter Stormare played Satan in the first Constantine film which featured Keanu Reeves as John Constantine and was Francis Lawrence’s directorial debut. The film was based on the characters Alan Moore, Rick Veitch, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben.
John Constantine was the lead characters of the Hellblazer comics and the movie came out in 2005 and was very different from the comic book version. Let’s face it, Reeves’ Constantine is nothing like the comic book version.
There have been calls for quite some time now for a Constantine sequel to be made, however, there hasn’t been any real confirmation that it’s happening. Lawrence did reveal recently that he would love to do a sequel, and Stormare has now revealed that the movie is in the works.

So, what did Peter Stormare said exactly about Constantine 2? Well, he posted an image of himself as Satan in the movie – and just below the image were the words: “In Constantine, Peter Stormare plays one of the best versions of Satan in film history.”
This picture was taken from Total Nerd’s Instagram feed, and Stormare accompanied the image with the caption: “Sequel In The Works”. So, it seems as though conversations have been going on behind the scenes. Fingers crossed this movie is going to see the light of day.

This is Jesse Eisenberb as Lex Luther levels of bad casting. As an avid Hellblazer fan and a believer that John should always be blonde and British (and that the ‘the laughing magician’ should you know… laugh) I would argue even worse than that. Please please don’t do it again.
