It’s been revealed that Cillian Murphy is going to return as Tommy Shelby in a Peaky Blinders movie. This news was revealed by the show’s creator, Steven Knight in an interview with Deadline.
It was also revealed that Peaky Blinders Season 6 would be the show’s last. However, it sounds as though there will be spinoff shows as well as this Peaky Blinders movie. It’s a bit like what AMC is doing with The Walking Dead franchise.
So, Knight revealed that Peaky Blinders would be returning “in another form”. He then added: “Covid changed our plans. But I can say that my plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. That is what is going to happen.”

Executive producer Caryn Mandabach then told Deadline: “This final season of our beloved Peaky Blinders is going to be the best one yet. Steve’s uncanny ability to be prescient about world events is only matched by his ability to make Tommy Shelby the most indelible character of our times.”
It’s going to be really interesting to see where they end up taking Tommy Shelby’s character in Peaky Blinders Season 6. We’ll then get to see more of Cillian Murphy in the role in the upcoming film, which I really cannot wait to see.
