It’s now being rumoured that Christian Bale might be about to replace Michael Keaton as Batman in the upcoming The Flash movie.
This rumour does come from We Got This Covered’s ‘sources’, so yes, take this with a pinch of salt.
However, I wanted to go into why this might actually make some sort of sense.
It’s no secret that Michael Keaton has been a bit freaked out by the pandemic.
He seems to be particularly worried about what’s going on in the UK with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Well, things have opened up again in the UK this week, and I think this might be cause for concern for Keaton.
We all know now what happens when things are opened up again: infections spread and the number of cases start to skyrocket.
I wonder whether this reopening of bars and restaurants will be a worry of Keaton.
Christian Bale could replace Michael Keaton as Batman in The Flash movie

He will know that this could very easily happen in the UK, and he’s not a young guy any more.
Should Keaton contract the virus, it could be very bad for him.
I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Keaton will opt not to come over to the UK, where The Flash is going to be filming.
This will then mean that Warner Bros. Pictures will have to look for someone to step into the role.
That someone could very easily be Christian Bale.
He’s currently in Australia filming Thor: Love And Thunder.
However, by the time The Flash starts filming, he will be back in the UK.
Filming for The Flash should begin officially in August of this year.
The only issue for having Bale come back to play Batman in The Flash is that he’s stated in the past that he’ll only do it if Christopher Nolan was involved and OK with it.
Now, I’m pretty sure that Nolan, given what’s going down between him and Warners, will not give his blessing.
This could cause a bit of a problem for Warner Bros. Pictures and The Flash movie.
However, everybody has his or her price, and I’m pretty sure Warner Bros. Pictures and Christian Bale could agree on a price that would convince him to return to the role.

I wouldn’t mind Christian Bale returning as Batman. Although I’d love to see the Snyderverse come into contact with the Burtonverse with both Ben Affleck’s and Michael Keaton’s Batmen, I can understand why Michael Keaton might say no. I just hope he doesn’t. Luckily, all 3 actor’s Batmen are my favorites so I won’t be sad if goes either way.
No thanks. Only Keaton will do and only he makes sense.
