A DeepFake video with Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones has been doing well on the Internet, so should Pratt play the character moving forward?
Pratt has been playing some sort of version of Indiana Jones for quite some time now.
If you look at the characters he’s played in Guardians of the Galaxy and the Jurassic World films; then it becomes very clear that Harrison Ford’s performances in the Indiana Jones movies heavily inspired him.
He’s not exactly the same as Ford’s Jones was.
Pratt’s characters do tend to be a lot goofier than Ford’s Indy.
However, there is definitely a similarity between the two actors.
First off, they look pretty similar, and they’re both very good at mixing action with comedy.
Pratt’s been honing those skills in both his Marvel and Jurassic World movies.
Ford honed those skills over a very long and successful career which included the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.

Back when Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was released, it seemed as though they were prepping Shia LaBeouf for the Indiana Jones role.
However, we all know how that turned out, and he really wasn’t the right man to bring the franchise forward.
Don’t get me wrong. I think Shia is a genuinely terrific actor.
I actually think he’s very underrated.
Just watch his performance in Honey Boy, a film which he also wrote.
He’s brilliant in that film. However, I do think he’s done with action movies after having starred in the Transformers films.
I think LaBeouf is pretty much done with Hollywood blockbusters.
Pratt, on the other hand, is very much not done with them.
He’s something of a ‘Blockbuster actor’. He’s great in the Marvel movies and I think he’s also very good in the Jurassic World movies.
I’m not a huge fan of those films, but I like him in them, and I think that’s Pratt’s secret to his success and why he’d make a good replacement for Ford in the Indiana Jones movies.
He’s very likeable in his movies. He does action well and he knows what makes a good blockbuster.
He’s the kind of actor who’d play ball with the studio executives and I think movie studios would love to have him be the leading man of their big Hollywood blockbuster franchise.
Do we need more Indiana Jones movies?

However, there is the question of whether we really need more Indiana Jones movies.
We saw with Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull that it is possible to make a genuinely terrible Indiana Jones movie.
There’s also the fact that Harrison Ford is pretty much synonymous with the character.
Could the franchise really carry on without him?
Before Chris Pratt burst onto the action movie scene with the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I would have said no.
I would have said that there isn’t an actor out there who could carry on the franchise.
However, Pratt seems to be tailor-made for the role.
I honestly believe he was born to take over from Harrison Ford.
There’s one other actor I think could do a good job in the role, and that’s Oscar Isaac.
However, Pratt has that loveable rogue aura about him which I think puts him in pole position to take over the franchise as the next Indiana Jones.
He’s also now got the physique for the role, which is something he didn’t have back when he was on Parks And Recreation.
What’s going on with Indiana Jones 5?

They are making an Indiana Jones 5 movie, and it will star Harrison Ford as Jones.
However, I’m really not sure how they’re going to make this movie.
First off, we’re all pretty much in lockdown, and it doesn’t look like Hollywood movies are going to start being made again any time soon.
If this movie is going to made at all then they have to get a move on.
Ford’s not getting any younger.
I do think Disney would be keen on the idea of bringing in a younger actor who could move the franchise forward.
They have a good working relationship with Pratt, and it would kind of mimic the way Ford ended up wearing the now-iconic Fedora.
Before playing Jones, Ford played Han Solo in the Star Wars movies.
Pratt is going to be playing Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord for the last time in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It would just make sense for him to move onto Indiana Jones after that.
