It had been revealed that Chris Evans was originally supposed to star in Netflix’s The Devil All The Time, but he dropped out. Here’s why.
So, it’s been revealed via Deadline that Chris Evans was orignally asked to be in Netflix’s movie The Devil All The Time.
This movie is already star-studded.
It features the likes of Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Jason Clarke, Bill Skarsgård, Eliza Scanlen, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett and Riley Keough.
One of the actors I didn’t mention in that list was Sebastian Stan.
He is one of the biggest names in the movie, but it’s now been revealed that Chris Evans was the first choice for the role.
However, Evans was just too busy to star in the movie and he then suggested that director Antonio Campos should contact his Marvel movies mate, Stan instead.

So it seems as though scheduling conflicts was the reason why Chris Evans had to leave the project.
He was filming his upcoming sci-fi film Infinite and Apple TV+ series Finding Jacob, therefore Evans was forced to drop out in February 2019
However, he suggested Sebastian Stan should take his place as the corrupt cop Lee Bodecker.
Stan is brilliant in the role, but it’s interesting to think about how Evans’ take on the character would have differed.

Chris Evans isn’t in Infinite, either. He dropped both projects in favour of Defending Jacob which we knew last year when Defending Jacob ran over schedule.
