It’s been revealed that Agents Of SHIELD star, Chloe Bennet has been cast in The CW’s upcoming live-action Powerpuff Girls series.
This news comes to us from Variety, and I’m rather intrigued, but also slightly puzzled by the idea of a live-action Powerpuff Girls series.
I’m not going to lie, I was a huge fan of the show growing up.
I used to find the show wonderfully odd and just so interesting to watch.
I distinctly remember finding to animation style very interesting and loved watching the Powerpuff Girls kick butt whenever the show was on Cartoon Network.
Yes, we had Cartoon Network in the UK growing up and I loved shows such as The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory.

The thing is, when I discovered that The CW was making a live-action series, the first thought that came to mind was that it was the wrong network for the property.
I don’t know why, but I always thought that if they were to make a live-action version of the popular cartoon show, it should be made by someone like Robert Rodriguez and that it would be great to see on Netflix.
There was something about the way Rodriguez’s movies looked that just seem to fit the idea of a live-action Powerpuff Girls movie or TV show.
Bennet will be playing Blossom, and the other actors who will be starring alongside her in the show are Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault.
Cameron is playing Bubbles, and Perrault will be playing Buttercup.
All three of them will be playing the sisters, otherwise known as the Powerpuff Girls.
