It’s been revealed that Channing Tatum’s Gambit will be turning up in the upcoming Deadpool And Wolverine (Deadpool 3) movie and that his role will be more than just a cameo. It’s actually been reported that he will play a significant part in the movie’s plot, which is very exciting indeed.
This news comes to us via Daniel Richtman (aka DanielRPK). Now, Richtman’s is a name you might be familiar with if you’re into Marvel, DC, video games and streaming scoops. He has an incredibly good track record when it comes to all things Marvel, and I think that this scoop is pretty much confirmed at this point.

According to Richtman, Tatum’s Gambit isn’t just going to have a fleeting appearance in the movie. It sounds like he’s actually going to be one of the movie’s main characters, which is terrific news. Why, you ask? Well, a few years ago, it had been revealed that 20th Century Fox had greenlit a Gambit movie and that Tatum was going to play the role.
This project then ended up in development Hell for years. It kept on switching writers, and then directors, but one name was attached to the project throughout all of this turmoil: Channing Tatum. He always wanted to play the character, and I think he was pretty much perfect casting for the role.

However, the movie never saw the light of day, which was really disappointing. After Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, they basically canned the project. However, they’ve kind of given Tatum a chance to play the comic book character he’s always wanted to play in this upcoming Deadpool film, and I’m pretty sure it was all Ryan Reynolds’ idea.
I can’t say that for sure, but it sounds like the kind of idea he would have had. I can just imagine him in the writers’ room right now, saying: “Hey, you know who we should bring into this movie: Channing Tatum as Gambit! Wouldn’t that be so cool!” And, of course, he’d be right. Fans would love it, and I think Tatum would also appreciate it.
