Castlevania Season 4 has just been released on Netflix, and this anime show is one of the best things on the streaming platform. But, will there be a Castlevania Season 5, or has the show been cancelled? If so, then why?
It was revealed a while back that Castlevania Season 4 was going to be the show’s last season.
I wanted to look into why that was the case and what we Castlevania fans can expect in the future.
Is the show really dead, or are we going to be getting something else?
Well, I can report that there is good news and bad news.
Let’s start with the good news.
The good news is that there is a Castlevania spin-off show coming.
The bad news is that Castlevania’s creator, Warren Ellis won’t be involved in this show.

Why, you ask? Well, Ellis is also the reason why Castlevania Season 5 isn’t happening.
It was revealed by Deadline that Netflix and Ellis will not be working together anymore.
This happened after there were a series of sexual assault allegations made against Ellis.
He is denying these claims, however, Netflix isn’t taking any chances and decided to distance itself from the writer/creator of this animated Castlevania series.
Castlevania Season 4 was still written by Ellis, but he was no longer on board as the series’ showrunner.

However, it will most likely not feature any of the same characters as the main series.

It became clear in the penultimate and final episodes of season 4 that the series was done. The writing and story became sloppy and rushed. The character arcs didn’t so much progress as left hanging. Very disappointing.
What an ignoble and wretched end to a terrific show. It deserved better.
It’s guilty until proven innocent these days unfortunately. By then the damage has already been done.
