Captain Marvel 2’s Official Title May Have Been Leaked

Rumours and speculation are interesting things. People are often desperate to know what’s going to happen next, especially when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there are rumours circling the world wide web to do with Captain Marvel 2’s title having been revealed.

I’m not one of those people who gets excited by the title of a movie. I just want to see the movie. Sometimes a trailer can really get me in the mood, but there’s only be one instance of me getting excited about a movie title, and that was Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

The reasons behind that are completely personal (I predicted the title way before it was revealed, in a video -which you can view here).

Now, back to Captain Marvel 2’s title. I may have said that I rarely get excited about movie title, but this potentially leaked title really has me intrigued.

According to We Got This Covered’s sources, Captain Marvel 2 is going to be called Captain Marvel: Secret Invasion, which has me thinking that the Skrulls might have something to do with the sequel.

They were in the first movie, but their role from the comics was flipped somewhat. In the comics, the Skrulls tend to be the villains. Well, they don’t tend to be the villains, they are the villains.

The movie, however, had them as refugees, which I felt was a really good change, and one which lead to really interesting and captivating scenes involving Ben Mendelsohn’s character Talos and Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers.

If this title for Captain Marvel 2 turns out to be correct, then it would mean that the Skrulls will be returning and will be the villains, since in the comics, Secret Invasion is all about the Skrulls masquerading as members of the Avengers and causing havoc.

I think there will be good Skrulls and bad Skrulls and Nick Fury being in space at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home might have something to do with this oncoming Secret Invasion storyline.

This has me really excited because it’s a super interesting story arc from the comics, and it could mean that Captain Marvel 2 will be mostly set in space, which needs to happen.

I think it’s time for the MCU to leave Earth behind and explore the galaxy. I’d love to see more of that.
