Brainiac Is Coming To The DC Movies

Brainiac is going to be coming to the DC Universe, and it’s looking like he could be one of Superman’s (played by Henry Cavill) main villains. There has been a lot written about Cavill returning to the role that he last played back in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

However, Cavill returned to appear in Black Adam’s post-credits scene as Superman. Cavill then took to Instagram to reveal that he is back as Superman and that there’s a lot more to come from his version of the Man Of Steel.

According to a number of our sources, Cavill could be taking on one of DC Comics’ most fascinating and sinister villains of all time: Brainiac. Our sources revealed that the plan is to bring Brainiac into the DC Universe, and it’s been suggested to us that the idea is to have him battle Cavill’s Superman in the upcoming films.

However, we weren’t able to confirm with our sources whether the two will battle in an upcoming solo Superman film. We will update you on that front as soon as we hear anything else regarding whether the iconic DC villain and the Man Of Steel will be fighting one another in a future DC Universe movie.

The character first appeared in DC Comics way back in 1958 and has been one of their most prominent villains. He’s one of Superman’s greatest enemies, and we’ve been told that Cavill’s Man Of Steel is going to get to take him on in an upcoming DC movie.

Now, we weren’t told whether this would be for a standalone Superman movie, but we think that might be the best place to have Brainiac be introduced in the DC Universe. It also ties in rather nicely with the reports that the Legion Of Doom is going to be introduced in The Flash sequel. It was also reported that the script for that film has already been finished.

Now, let’s talk about Brainiac and what the character is all about. He was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino and first appeared in Action Comics #242 in July 1958. The character is usually depicted as an extraterrestrial android or cyborg and is one of Superman’s greatest enemies in the comics.

He’s also one of the Justice League’s major adversaries. One of the characters’ most well know ‘achievements’ (that’s from his point of view, by the way) was shrinking and stealing Kandor. Kandor was the capital city of Superman’s home planet Krypton. Brainiac has been the one responsible for Krypton’s destruction in some continuities.

Fans have been asking for the villain to be brought into the movies for quite some time now. It looks like they are going to get their wish in the upcoming DC movies.

We’ve had the likes of Sabbac, Lex Luthor, Steppenwolf, Cheetah, Enchantress, the Joker, Darkseid, Maxwell Lord, General Zod, Ocean Master, Dr. Sivana, Starro the Conqueror, Black Mask and Ares. However, we still haven’t seen Brainiac in the films. It’s about time to have him be introduced in the DC Universe.

It does seem as though one of the main plans over at Warner Bros Discovery and DC Films is to bring in the Legion Of Doom. As mentioned above, it’s been suggested that The Flash 2 will introduce the legendary supervillain team to the DC Universe. Therefore, we should expect some interesting villains to be introduced in the upcoming DC movies relatively soon.

The core members of the Legion Of Doom in the comics include the likes of Bizarro, Black Manta, Brainiac, Captain Cold, Cheetah, Giganta, Gorilla Grodd, Riddler, Scarecrow, Sinestro, Solomon Grundy and Toyman. We’ve only seen a small selection of those villains in the main DC films.

We’ve already seen Black Manta and Cheetah in the core DC Universe films. We’ve also seen a version of the Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman movie. However, those films seem to be apart from the other DC movies.

If you’re in the mood for some DC Universe action on the big screen, you can watch Black Adam in cinemas right now across the United States and the United Kingdom.
