Great news for Bosch fans as Amazon announced that Bosch: Legacy is getting a season 2. This was announced by Amazon at this years Interactive Advertising Bureau’s NewFronts event.
It seems the studio has a lot of faith in the Bosch franchise as they greenlit the second season days before Bosch: Legacy season 1 even premiered.
The IAB’s NewFronts event is a place for media buyers to watch showcases by celebrity talents, presentations on series and films for distributors to bid on, as well as panel talks about the future of media and streaming.
The NewFront event by Amazon Freevee, formerly IMDb TV, announced a whole host of new titles and more seasons to some current titles. Such as the Post Malone: Runaway music documentary, UNINTERRUPTED’s Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers and more.
However, the one that caught a lot of attention was Amazon Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy. A spin-off series based on Amazon’s hit original series Bosch, which in turn was based off the novels written by Michael Connelly.

Bosch is a series that went on from 2014 to 2021 for seven seasons and it ended on a bit of a cliff hanger. The writers and producers of the original series decided a spin-off was a perfect way to continue the storyline instead of making an 8th season. Author Michael Connelly and Bosch star Titus Welliver both executive produce this new series so you can be sure it is staying true to the Bosch universe.
Many of the cast are returning for Bosch legacy such as Titus Welliver as Harry Bosch, Maddison Lintz as Maddie Bosch, Mimi Rogers as Honey Chandler and more. The series is produced by Fable Entertainment. As the original series gained high praise by fans and critics as well as our very own James Simon, Bosch: Legacy is expected to also be highly received.
Bosch: Legacy sounds exciting, what with a second season already being greenlit before the premiere, and you can bet that fans around the world are looking forward to seeing more of Bosch as a Private Eye.
Bosch: Legacy has the first 4 episodes out now on Amazon Freeve and Amazon Prime.
What are your thoughts about season 2 being announced? Should Amazon Freevee have waited? Are you a Bosch fan? Do you prefer the books?
